Vikki Hansen has been a part of the Cambria community for over 20 years. In 2008, when she discovered that there were no Assisted Living Homes in Cambria, her compassion for her mother-in-law and love of Cambria led her to found Cherish House, Cambria’s Assisted Living Home. The need in the community was so great the business expanded with another Assisted Living Home, Cherish House Retreat in 2012.
Hansen learned that their clients’ friends and neighbors in San Luis Obispo County also wanted to stay in their own homes but needed other services such as in-home care, transportation, senior living placement and help with keeping or selling their homes. They hired the best professionals and Cherish House became Cherish Care a multi-service agency offering a full suite of services for the county.
“We understand how much people here want to stay in the beautiful central coast area and we want to do everything possible to help them live well in our community,†said Hansen. “We want to give back to our community by offering free and sliding scale services.
